Week 18

God, how time flies! I have 18 weeks left and I'm not even confident with the fundamentals. I went through the ARCO guide and it looks like there is NO other way to do quant effortlessly than bury myself in books on the basics. I have given myself 4 more weeks for the basics, which would include the 4GMAT books and a revision of the Manhattan Guides (including the advanced chapters). So I should be ready to go with the ARCO, Kaplan and OG by the start of week 14.

Hey! How are you? you are right long time no see. Actually! I have been too busy with work as we had to test new features on our new product and then show it to customer so that they can deploy new product for their broadband network.
Well, nice going with prep, as far as Kaplan is concerned, you should've studied it earlier or before MGMAT guides. I would say don't go for Arco instead do lot of practice CATs and practice questions and then go back to MGMAT guides or on forums to consult any errors or mistakes and revise the topics related to your weak area.
I talked to one of my classfellow who iscurrently in UC-Berkeley Haas school of Business and got Fullbright scholarship to attend a B-school. He suggested me to do first GRE then apply to Scholarship (according to USEFP, GRE is must for Fullbright Scholarship, and then appear for TOEFL & GMAT. What do you think? Any suggestions?

@Atif: Thanks for your tip on ARCO. You saved me from going in a wrong direction. I'll work on Kaplan instead.

Wow, the Fullbright scholarship sounds cool. If you're planning to apply to MBA in 2011, I think your plan is great. But if you are pressed for time (meaning you are applying this year) I doubt it is doable to give the GRE and the GMAT before R1/R2. I'm writing this from my perspective. What do you feel? How are your studies coming up?

Yea! I'll start applying in 2011, and also will apply for Fullbright in May, 2011. Take GRE this Nov/Dec, then TOEFL Feb/Mar 2011, Apply for Fullbright in May 2011, interviews for Fullbright most probably in july 2011 and results in Sep/Oct 2011. Meanwhile, will try to write GMAT in Aug/Sep 2011, applying for schools nad doing Essays and getting LORs from Sep/Oct onwards and will get enrolled in Aug 2012 (With Almighty's help, InshaAllah). That's my plan for MBA. Actually, i've roughly planned what I am going to do after MBA and then start a business before 40 years of Age, no job after 40 years of Age. My long-term plans are for Social Entrepreneurship/Social Business. Let's see what happens, other than that God knows well.
