Manhattan GMAT - Free Test (600, 39Q, 34V)

I took my Manhattan GMAT practice test yesterday and here's my score. There's no improvement over last week and something seems to be seriously wrong. Any suggestions to improve my score?

Verbal Total: 41 Q - 22 correct, 19 wrong, 0 unanswered - 53%
I made so many mistakes in RC, and in CR, even in the 600-700 range. RC was my worst performance. I scored only 33% in RC, 57% in CR and 67% in SC.

Quant Total: 37 Q - 18 correct, 19 wrong, 0 unanswered - 48%
In  Quant, I performed the worst on Number Properties. I scored only 17% in Number Properties, 40% in Word Translations, 50% in Fractions, Decimals and Percentages, 60% in Geometry and 75% in Algebra.

How was your timing? Did you rush during the last 5 or 10 questions?

Have you identified what were the causes of the mistakes (i.e. careless mistakes or concept mistakes)?

I tried to use the how-to-analyze guidance posted in BTG (http://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/2010/07/22/the-%E2%80%9Cbest-of-beat-the-gmat-manhattangmat%E2%80%9D-resources-for-those-just-starting-out) to analyze each question. I spent at least 20 minutes to analyze a question using this guidance. I don't know whether this is the norm but I did find causes of my errors (other than concept or careless errors) that I would not realize if I just breeze through the answers. For example, I have no problem with breaking down a value into its prime numbers. However, when the question involves big numbers, it took me quite a while to break it down and this cost a lot to my timing.

I suggest you go through the Manhattan strategy guide on Number Properties. Also, check what question types are getting wrong often - Data Sufficiency or Problem Solving? Revisiting few topics based on your analysis would be useful. Cheer up, prepare better and ace the gmat!

@KT, Shivraj, Adekku, Prasanjeet: THANKS for your suggestions! Got disheartened by my score, but will try improve it before I take the next test. The road to MBA might be long, but it isn't lonely. Thanks everyone!

Looks like you need some strategy on the quants. How good are you at doing multiplication, division and all such math stuffs? You should know atleast 16 x 16 multiplication tables. This is not something you can easily achieve now if you haven't done so in your childhood. Anyways don't loose heart. and there is nothing sort of impossible but its going to take little more time. Good luck with your journey

It seems to me that you've done a good job of identifying the areas you need help with. Now of course you need to find a study method that works best for you. Will you learn best from books? If so, which company's books help you most? Have you tried the Official Guides? Or would you work best with an instructor or tutor?
